Bless Foundation and Partners.

Together we help

As representatives of the Bless Foundation, along with our Friends and Partners, we have been working for many years to foster connections between Poland and Israel. We have organized numerous initiatives aimed at bringing us closer and deepening our shared history, collaboration, and providing very tangible assistance. Over the past year, we have worked extensively in Israel, aiding Holocaust survivors by offering them emotional, spiritual, and physical support. Today, we are determined by the events that have shaken Israel and the world, a powerful drama involving innocent people. It motivates us to take CONCRETE ACTION - we urge you to join us in making a difference!

TODAY IN ISRAEL

207th day of the war

THE MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Donald Trump, former US president and current candidate of the Republican Party, in an interview for Time magazine, sharply criticizes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel's war leadership, but assures that if re-elected in November, he will "protect Israel". Trump expresses concern about Netanyahu's lack of preventive action against the Hamas attack on October 7, considering it a failure.
  • This evening's Israeli war cabinet meeting was canceled due to intense disagreements over a possible Egyptian-brokered hostage deal. Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir and Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich expressed opposition to an agreement that could limit or stop fighting in Rafah. Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that Israel would conduct an operation in Rafah with the aim of achieving complete victory over Hamas, regardless of the existence of an agreement. The three-voting war cabinet includes Netanyahu, Gantz and Gallant, with Gadi Eisenkot as observer.
  • Prosecutors at the International Criminal Court are interrogating hospital staff in Gaza in connection with investigations into possible war crimes. ICC investigators are talking to staff at Gaza's two main hospitals, Al Shifa in the north of the enclave and Nasser in the south, in what is the first confirmation of such activities. Details of the investigation are not being disclosed for the safety of witnesses. The ICC investigation concerns the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel and the subsequent Israeli offensive in Gaza, which may be part of proceedings against individuals for war crimes and other crimes.
  • Today, a video was published showing a knife attack in the Old City of Jerusalem, where one of the officers was injured. The suspect in the attack, 34-year-old Turkish citizen Hasan Saklanan, was shot dead after trying to stab a Border Guard policeman near Herod's Gate. The recording shows Saklanan suddenly pulling out a knife and trying to attack the policeman. After a struggle in which the wounded officer drags the attacker away, both officers open fire, killing Saklanan.
  • French Foreign Minister brings proposals to ease tensions between Israel and Hezbollah to Jerusalem. The proposals are based on the implementation of UN Resolution 1701, which imposes a disarmament obligation on Hezbollah. The French minister's visit aims to improve the situation in the region, noting progress in the responses of the Lebanese authorities. Israel's foreign minister thanks France for helping to intercept Iranian missiles during the April attack on Israel.

Report from Israel

Israel - Sukkot holidays, rest, horror, war...

I was there...

Jerusalem, the end of Sukkot. At 7:15, we were awakened by sirens and strange sounds, as if there were impacts somewhere outside. In the hallway of our hotel, you could hear noises of commotion and loud conversations.

We quickly got up, checked the hallway. People were already there, who, as it turned out, efficiently moved to the shelter on the 21st floor of the building...

The next few hours were spent regularly entering the shelter every 30 - 40 minutes. In the evening, it calmed down a bit. At the first and second entrance to the shelter, local Israelis smiled and told us not to worry because it's "standard" in Israel. They will shoot for a while, and it will end. And we have the 'Iron Dome,' so it's safe. However, hour by hour, the information from the media painted a completely different picture of events. An unusual rocket shootout turned into horror: abductions, brutal torture, and murdering of innocent people. I won't cite examples; we have all seen fragments of these crimes in the media...

It turned out that this whole 'Hamas action' is not a fight for land, power, or soldier against soldier, but a sentence on you if you are a Jew.

'You haven't done anything wrong, but if you're a Jew, you deserve to be killed!'

Today, Israel is going through one of the most challenging moments in its history:

  • someone 'let in' murderers into Israel and did not provide help in time
  • experiences from the Holocaust have returned to safe places
  • thousands of people have lost their lives, their closest families, in a brutal way
  • thousands of people had to be moved to a safe place away from the Gaza Strip
  • tens of thousands of families have been deprived of their fathers, brothers, and sisters who were called up to the army
  • enormous funds will be needed to maintain such a large army and equipment
  • enormous efforts are being made to supply those who have lost everything or had to flee

Today, it is unknown how many people have actually died, how many will die, how long the war will last, and what the consequences will be...
